82 • RV PRO • September 2018 rv-pro.com O ver the first decade of Open House Week, suppliers were hesitant to get in on the action. It wasn't that they didn't see the value of one of the largest gatherings of RV dealers in the country. It was just that there was limited time for the dealers to see all of the new rolling stock and the suppliers were reluctant to take time away from their most important clients' ability to make sales. But over the past few years, as the event has expanded by a day with exhibits opening on Monday and some dealers are even rolling into Elkhart, Ind., on Sunday afternoon and driving down County Road 6 to see what's new – and with no tradi- tional RV Industry Association National RV Trade Show this year – more suppliers and vendors have been getting involved. This year, for the first time, there will be a large presence near the manufacturer displays at the RV/MH Hall of Fame. The RV Suppliers & Vendors Exhibition will host more than 30 suppliers near the intersection of County Road 17 and Executive Parkway. Separately, at least 16 suppliers will again take part in a sep- arate Supplier Showcase at the Norco facility across the street from Forest River's large exhibit at its Dynamax plant on County Road 6. Other suppliers who call Elkhart home will be hosting events at their facilities. Dometic and Lippert Components each will host events during the week. RV Suppliers & Vendors Exhibition West Coast marketing firm CIRV Inc. will be hosting the exhibit on a 2- to 3-acre plot of land on Executive Parkway near the RV/MH Hall of Fame. CIRV's Randall Jeremiah says he was able to secure the property through Rob Letherman, president of Elkhart-based Northland Corp. "It's going to be definitely a place that will be worthwhile for dealers to go to," he says. "If we can get enough vendors all in one spot, it will make it a whole lot easier for the dealers to come and they will be more receptive instead of just stop- ping at one spot or two. Here, they can stop at one spot and see everybody." With the Louisville show moving and changing its focus, By Travis O.
