Gyford StandOff Systems Donates 150 Stocked Backpacks to Local School District As a part of the national campaign Build-a-Backpack, Gyford StandOff Systems again donated 150 stocked backpacks to its local school district's (Nevada Washoe County) Children in Transition Program. The program's goal this year was to reach 2,000 total backpacks. Build-a-Backpack is an event that involves filling backpacks with school supplies for children living in motels, homeless shel- ters, domestic violence shelters, or who are unaccompanied. Its mission is to send every child to school fully equipped for the new school year and therefore streamline access to education. Steve and Valerie Gyford bought 150 backpacks in early 2018 and Gyford's staff filled the backpacks throughout the year with classroom supplies. To supplement their contribu- tions, the company offered a sales promotion in May, where 10 percent of kit sales went toward buying supplies for this cause. Learn more: www.bit.ly/GyfordBackpacks. AXYZ Unveils Redesigned Website Burlington, Ontario, Canada-based engraving and cutting systems maker AXYZ International announced a new and improved e-commerce website at www.CNCRoutershop.com along with two upcoming changes. The first is a live chat function; the second is a loyalty program on the website. This rewards program is points-based, where customers receive a certain number of points based on their purchases. Engraving Concepts Sales Rep Marks 20 Years August 17th marked the 20th work anniversary for Randy Allen of Engraving Concepts. Allen was origi- nally hired to the company as an installer/trainer, but his responsibilities have evolved into a sales-focused role over the years. Commenting on this mile- stone is Jeanette Brewer- Richardson, general manger. "Randy is like family to us at Engraving Concepts. He's the first person we hired outside our family, but many folks think he's my dad's (Roy Brewer) son/ my brother – and we're okay with that," she says with a laugh. In light of this achievement, A&E asked Allen to weigh in on how others in a similar position can cultivate a long- lasting career. His response: "To me, perseverance is the key to a successful career in the engraving industry. Under the heading of perseverance, putting the needs of the customer first and having a mindset that is always willing to learn and improve has helped me perpetuate the correct perspective for the long haul."
