If you are creative and you've caught the entrepreneurial bug, screen printing garments might sound like a good way to earn a living. Fortunately, a garment screen-printing business doesn't necessarily require a massive setup. There are screen printers around the world of all shapes and sizes, from small one-man operations run out of the garage to hundreds of automatics with thousands of employees. Before you strike out on your own and get ink under your fingernails, there are some important issues to consider. It will take planning and commitment to get a screen- printing business off the ground. If you're willing to put in the work, a screen-printing business can be a rewarding venture. It's a very competitive industry, and even with commitment, there is no guarantee of success. Even with careful planning and research, it can be a financial challenge before showing a bottom line. While it's possible to get setup for a low ini- tial investment, determining the difference between a hobby and a business is essential.
