Printer Specifications and Options There are several things to consider before selecting a UV-LED printer: • What is the largest printable dimen- sion and weight capability needed? • What are the thickest items the printer can handle? • How fast can it print, especially with white and color inks used simultaneously? • Is the print resolution high enough? • What options (cylindrical printing, direct-to-garment printing) can be easily and affordably added and installed? Here are a few UV-LED benchtop print- ers and some main features recommended. Roland LEF-12i The LEF-12i is a good choice for short- run customization of USB drives, smart- phone covers, photo frames, and other small objects. It has a printable area of 12 by 11 inches, slower print speeds, and offers Roland's quality and support for less than $15,000. Printing white and CMYK onto bottles and cylindrical objects is easy with the new RotaPrint attachment for the LEF- 12i. Simple to install and remove, it uti- lizes the LEF-12i's existing feed system and enables the LEF to print cleanly onto a wide range of cylindrical objects with diameters between 1.6 and 3 inches. Roland LEF-200 The LEF-200 is designed for short-run digital decorating of small- and medium- sized items. It features a 20-by-30-inch printable area and offers pre-primed print- ing onto various substrates. Unique addi- tional features include: • An advanced UV-LED curing system that expedites production. • An intuitive distance print mode with a height tolerance of 2mm ensures con- sistency on irregular and curved objects. • Up to 40 job presets allow the recall of specific media settings for your popular applications. • A height sensor bar made with non- magnetic material for printing on magnetic items such as iPad covers. • An optional RotaPrint attachment that enables users to print onto cylindri- cal objects.
