The new office is located in Trevose, Pennsylvania. Penn Emblem says the move is the culmination of the com- pany's anniversary in 2017. Expert Brand Celebrates 25 Years VERNON, Calif—Expert Brand Apparel, designer and manufacturer of performance apparel, celebrates its 25th anniversary. The company officially marked the occasion on Oct. 1. In 1993, Expert Brand Apparel exclusively designed and developed perfor- mance fabrics until two of the brand's larger customers put in a request for sewn performance T-shirts. Com- pany founders Sion, Albert, and Hersel Shaman said yes to the opportunity, and this launched the garment manufacturing side of the business. "We decided we wanted to make a better shirt, an EXtra PERformance T-shirt. Thus EXPERT," says Sion Shaman, Expert Brand president. "We also wanted to contribute to the active lifestyle market where people could get engaged in physical activities and live a better and healthier life." The brand has since grown to more than 100 employees and 200 apparel styles with millions made each year. The customer base has also grown from a handful of firms to more than 800 companies, including promotional products distributors and apparel decorators on the wholesale side and gyms, yoga stu- dios, marathons, and sporting goods stores on the B2B retail side. Shaman highlights the need for more USA-made products and points out technology's role in making the design, manufacturing, and customer service aspects easier. "In 1993, most people didn't know what moisture wicking meant," Shaman says. "Today, there are so many more fabrics and contents that simply did not exist 25 years ago. There's also talk in many arenas about smart fabric and wearable technologies; products that can interact with human bodies and the environment. Nevertheless, the product must be trendy and fashionable. Thus, fashion, function, and fit. We can't wait to see what the next 25 years bring. The future is going to be exciting." RTP Apparel Supports Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team Event NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio—RTP Apparel supports the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST) at a recent event. The company donated shirts to a Hamilton, Ohio direct-to-garment printer for a game held by the organiza- tion's. The WWAST includes a combina- tion of competitive, athletic veterans and active-duty soldiers who have lost limbs while serving their country. The team trav- els the country playing able-bodied teams in competitive, celebrity, and exhibition softball games. "WWAST athletes are examples of am- putees who continue to push the limits of modern prosthetic technology with more and more applications," says RTP Apparel. "Of course, the dream would be the return of our soldiers from harm's way without the resulting loss of life and limb. Until such a time, their goal is to support and honor our soldiers and veterans' sacrifices, and to show other amputees and every- one who sees or hears about them that life without a limb is limitless." As part of the game, the team helped raise money for Kids Camp, a softball camp run by WWAST. The camp coaches and men- tors children with amputations or missing limbs. The organization offers the program to children and their families free of charge. Some of the camp attendees attended the game to reconnect with the players.
