DECEMBER 2018 THE SHOP 55 of the overspray area. Use the airbrush to make the transition. For pearl or metallic colors, it gets a little trickier. Some of these colors blend better than others. If working over a candy base, then you really have to pay close attention to the overspray during the fire application. When airbrushing, make sure to aim the airbrush toward the fire and use less air pres- sure. After applying each layer, take extra time to wipe down the area with pre-cleaner, then use a 3,000-grit foam pad to wet-sand back the edge of the overspray.
