DECEMBER 2018 THE SHOP 81 I was present at my dealerships so much, one of my buddies said I "couldn't possibly be domesticated, as I was a workaholic." I baked thousands of cookies and made homemade gift baskets for more than 300 dealerships that year and proved him wrong! Not only was I crazy enough to do this one holiday season, but also for the two years that followed, until it became a thing. I was unable to bake one year and we were receiving calls at the shop asking about me and my cookies, as it meant so much to see the effort. Once you build your relationships and trust, visits are fun. I'm realizing I'm just like my father—but without the hammer! COURTNEY LEIGH PAHLKE and her brother are second- generation partners of their father's 43-year-old company, Top Coverage. Their locations service nearly 350 dealerships in Chicago and throughout Illinois, where they work hard to grow their father's empire. Learn more at TopCoveragenorth.com. A holiday gift basket tradition I started helps show dealer- ships that we value their business. We're behind you all the way. Need help? Contact the AftermarketCharity.org today. One minute, everything is fine. The next instant, disaster strikes. Hindsight is 20/20. Nobody can see into the future. But one thing is certain. If you are employed in the Automotive Aftermarket Industry, you are part or a generous family. Your brothers and sisters have donated to a charitable fund available to you, come what may. They are here for you. And so are we. Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation
