Also elected to officer positions at the meeting: First Vice Chair Ron Shepard of Camperland of Oklahoma in Tulsa, Okla.; Second Vice Chair Chris Andro of Hemlock Hill RV Sales in Southington, Conn.; Treasurer Mike Pearo of Hilltop Trailer Sales in Fridley, Minn.; and Secretary Sherry Shields of Pan Pacific RV Center in French Camp, Calif. Tim Wegge of Burlington RV Superstore in Sturtevant, Wis., is the immediate past chair. Ryan Horsey of Parkview RV Center in Smyrna, Del., and Scott Silva of Cold Springs RV Corp. in Weare, N.H., were elected to the board of directors by the RVDA board of delegates. They join director Nathan Hart of Walnut Ridge Family Trailer Sales in New Castle, Ind., on the board along with RVAC Chairman Jeff Hirsch of Campers Inn; RVRA Chairman Scott Krenek of Krenek RV Center, Coloma, Mich.; and Mike Molino RV Learning Center Chairman Jeff Pastore of Hartville RV Center, Hartville, Ohio. Awards & Recognition Also at the RVDA Annual Meeting, Bill Koster, vice president of specialty products at Protective Asset Protection, received the James B. Summers Award for his 25-plus years of involvement in the RV retail industry. In presenting the award during the annual meeting, RVDA President Phil Ingrassia noted that while Koster's company is a consistent financial supporter of the Association and the Mike Molino RV Learning Center, "It's Bill's personal involvement that truly stands out." Over the years, Koster has led numerous convention workshops, written dozens of articles for RV Executive Today, and "has been a leader in pushing for ethical behavior when dealing with customers," said Ingrassia. The James B. Summers award was created in 1986 to honor the Associ- ation's second chief staff officer, the late Jim Summers. The RVDA board of directors chooses this honoree by a secret ballot from nominations made by members. Separately, Wegge of Burlington RV Superstore in Sturtevant, Wis., pre- sented the RVDA Chairman's Service Award to three dealers and an industry partner at the RVDA Annual Meeting. The award is presented annually by the outgoing chairman of the board to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions of time and effort to the Association over an extended period. Honorees are chosen by the chairman. Sean Raynor of Integrated Dealer Services (IDS) was the industry recipient of a Chairman's Service Award for his efforts to improve repair event cycle time (RECT). Raynor and his team developed functioning dashboards for dealers and the industry that measure repair event cycle time. The first dealer recipient was Mike Regan of Crestview RV, "who has been an invaluable resource in getting the RECT project going," said Wegge. Regan provided reams of Crestview's repair data to help build the beta dashboards that will soon form the basis of RECT measurement for IDS dealers. Randy Biles of Pikes Peak Traveland in Colorado Springs, Colo., was the second dealer recognized with a Chairman's Service Award. Biles served as co-chair of the RVDA Industry Relations Committee with Debbie Brunoforte – working on updates to RVDA's annual DSI survey and spending hours with staff and volunteers updating RVDA's Model Dealer Agreement. The final recipient was Darrel Friesen of All Seasons RV in Yuba City, Calif. Friesen has helped RVDA maintain its position as an advocate for dealers within the industry and before lawmakers and regulators. In addition, he has not only been a leader within RVDA but is an important force behind CalRVDA's legislative accomplishments.
