S I G N & D I G I T A L G R A P H I C S • January 2019 • 69 Most of the parts were cut on WPC's old waterjet, as well as full size cor- rugated plastic patterns. The multi-part pattern was assembled on the WPC shop floor so the welding could begin. The main structure, all made from light wall 2" steel tubing. Slade and Donny built two huge frames to go back to back, on top of the corrugated plastic pattern. Juan, who did a lot of the welding for the whole project, stands by one of the completed frame members. Rick and Juan teamed together for the fabrication of two large 3-D logos, made from .090 mill finish aluminum. Before welding, parts of the edge trim were formed over simple shop items to make the edges of the large logos.
