My previous background has always been with serving the business community, so my strategic plan was to create a business around their needs. The bulk of my products are awards, name badges and plates, interior signage, and business gifts. I have partnered with an urn maker and laser the majority of urns in my region. I have also partnered with several wood workers and mount items to custom bases and plaques that are meaningful to the recipient. Many are for retirements and gifts commemorating an impor tant event o r o l d b u i l d i n g . I h a ve a l s o c re a t e d a small national niche market making min- iature scaled signs for holiday villages and train sets. How have I pro- moted my business? I started from scratch, bought a competitor after several years, and have been in business for 16 years now. The It's crucial to have a functional website to help market your products and services. I have a WordPress website I created using Elegant Themes technology, which is mobile- and pad-friendly, and have it hosted by Pressable. A direct mail campaign can be a useful marketing tool.
