18 | THE TEAM SALES REPORT 2019 RUNNING THE NUMBERS 2019 TEAM SALES SURVEY BASEBALL SOCCER (indoor or outdoor) BASKETBALL FOOTBALL (flag, touch, or tackle) SOFTBALL (fast pitch or slow pitch) 67% of responding businesses reported that they sell team sales products all year long while 33% sell only seasonally, with the second and third quarters seeing the highest numbers. 1st quarter: 12% 2nd quarter: 38% 3rd quarter: 38% 4th quarter: 12% Team sports that have seen increased growth are: The majority of respondents reported that a portion of their business can be directly related to team sales ( 67% ) while 78% said that the market is important or very important to their business. 67% 78% T he Team Sales market is a hugely important part of any apparel decoration and awards shop's business. To help better understand the nuances of the team category, Printwear and A&E surveyed those who service teams, clubs, and leagues across the country. This survey was conducted via electronic mail through Sur- veyMonkey.com and complied with all CAN-SPAM act laws and NBM privacy policy as found at www.nbm.com/privacy-statement. Respondents were selected from Printwear and A&E subscriber databases and all survey recipients were provided the same version of the survey. A total of 289 responses were received and no less than 114 responses were received on any one question. We hope that these findings can help you better understand this segment of the business, as well as gain the confidence to tackle this market.
