APRIL 2019 THE SHOP 43 Engine Blocks Edelbrock, Torrance, California, offers Engine Blocks for small- and big-block Chevrolet applications. Cast and machined in the U.S., they are the same engine blocks used by Edelbrock for all of its small-block Chevy crate engines as well as its 540 RPM and 555 RPM big-block Chevy crate engines. The blocks are precision-machined and feature standard factory specifications for popular small-block and big-block applications. They include splayed main caps and priority oiling for improved performance and reliability. New Supercharger Series Vortech Superchargers, Oxnard, California, introduces V-3 Heritage Series superchargers. Designed to offer modern efficiency and the classic sound of a gear-driven centrifugal supercharger in a self-lubricated compressor package, the Heritage series includes the original Vortech straight-cut gearset from 1990. The units have a self-lubricated transmission with upgraded oil slinger design and 3.45:1 internal step-up ratio. They are offered in multiple trim levels and three finishes. Sport Compact Coated Race Bearings King Engine Bearings, Livingston, New Jersey, introduces a full range of Coated Race Bearings for sport compact applications. The pMaxKote factory made and applied nano-composite polymer coating contains ceramic nano-composite particles that function as a fourth layer over the pMaxBlack structure, without changing the bearing's original precision wall thickness dimension.
