A s a technology, laser engraving has been around for quite some time. Its versatility allows users to decorate on everything from glass to wood and stone, and even metal. The benefits of having this service in an awards and person- alization shop are numerous, which is perhaps why many people continue to take it up. For the beginner, laser engraving might seem a bit daunting at first. Learning the machine's ins and outs, diving into the software, and testing out new materials and designs can feel like a large task. However, with so many resources and education oppor- tunities available, the first-time user has nothing to fear. And while it does take some time to truly hone your techniques, there are many helpful tips and tricks that can get you started.
