First, don't talk in front of anyone, like at a trade show, just you and your main contact. Second, don't ask huge favors of everything you buy, only the items you purchase large quantities or buy often. Third, ask for extended terms — maybe 45 days — but when you do, be prepared to live with those terms and pay as you have promised. Doing this can present you with a great advance and less stress.
