Seasoning Your RV Business With the summer selling season fast approaching, it's important for the parts department to have the right parts and accessories in stock in the right quantities. M any readers of this April issue of RV PRO will be kicking off their summer selling season, so I thought it might be helpful to pose some questions related to that topic, especially as it impacts your parts and accessories department specifically, but also your business in general. RVers Prepping For Trips & the Season In your experience, what types of goods do RVers require to prepare their units for any trips they have planned for the next several months? Would the needed items be different for customers who have stored their units during the winter? Could your parts associates develop a check- list for each type of RV that your business sells and services? How could your parts associates distribute "prep-lists" to your customers or to potential customers? Should these prep-lists include an option for the customer to email or fax their completed prep-list to your parts associates to process prior to the customer's arrival at your busi- ness? Should these prep-lists include a section for collecting customer and RV information? What customer and RV information is important to gather?
