56 THE SHOP MAY 2019 PACIFIC PERFORMANCE ENGINEERING On a recent trip to Orange County, Cali- fornia for the SEMA Motorsports Parts Manufacturers Council media trade con- ference in January, I got in a couple of days early to visit some industry friends and one of our sponsors just 20 minutes south of John Wayne Airport. Pacific Performance Engineering (PPE) is not only a manufacturer of diesel perfor- mance products, but also a custom garage where work is performed on special diesel projects. PPE recently moved into a new facility because it had outgrown its old location in Orange County, where it operated with four separate warehouses for more than 20 years. Now, everything is under one roof, with plenty of room to expand. PPE started out producing perfor- mance improvements for Duramax diesel engines more than 15 years ago and now has expanded product lines for Cummins and Power Stroke diesels as well. Its per- formance products are CARB 50-state legal and owner Joe Komaromi takes pride in knowing the engineering department has developed over 700 SKUs. PPE started more than 20 years ago with four employees and now has a full-time staff of 20. Its new facility not only has a beautiful showroom displaying its most popular products, but the complex also boasts more than 60,000 square feet of warehouse and production space serviced by train rail and 16 dock doors. It is always good to see how successful diesel businesses have grown when I get to visit after several years. It shows me the industry is growing, and DIESEL Motor- sports is part of that equation by holding our events in rural America. eam DIESEL LIVING THE During Infin- ity Diesel's open house and sled pull event, customers watch the truck dyno action inside the building. Pacific Performance Engineering has an exciting diesel engine display in its new show- room. The new PPE facility in Orange County, Califor- nia has more than 60,000 square feet of storage space for products and die- sel projects.
