In each case, rigorous testing was done by the media manufacturers before they would give their respective warranty blessings. "The 3M MCS Warranty program approval provides VG2 users printing TR2 ink on 3M media with added assurance that they can count on the quality and durability of every print they produce," says Daniel Valade, Roland DGA product manager, color products and cutters. "They get extra peace of mind, knowing that the output their VG2 printer/cut- ters create will not only be visually stunning, but also long-lasting." CorelDRAW Adds Mac and App Functionality for 2019 Ottawa, Canada-based Corel Corp. announces that it has updated its proprietary CorelDRAW Graphics Suite with two new additions for 2019. The company says it now offers a version of the program specifi- cally for macOS, as well as, an app for on-the-go graphic design. "CorelDRAW has built its reputation as a leading graphics suite that's focused on professional results, output, and ease of use," says John Falsetto, senior director of products, CorelDRAW and productivity. "When it comes to delivering outstanding projects every time, designers deserve real choice. With 2019, we're bringing the power of CorelDRAW in a truly native experience to the Mac, delivering the high-end tools professionals need." CorelDRAW for Mac offers native Mac applications for users familiar with the platform such as menus, windows, and views, fields and labels and buttons. "Celebrating 30 years of graphics excellence, our CorelDRAW team continues to innovate with new products that promise to dramatically change the design software landscape," says Gérard Métrailler, executive vice-president of Global Products at Corel. "With our recent Parallels acquisition and now the all- new CorelDRAW Graphics Suite for Mac, we've solidified Corel's position as a provider of exceptional soft- ware that meets the needs of modern knowledge workers across specialties, skill levels, and platforms." Mutoh America Expands Partnership with Johnson Plastics Plus Phoenix-based wide-format printer and cutter manufacturer Mutoh America announces an expanded partnership with Minneapolis-based Johnson Plastics Plus (JPPlus), a distributor of rotary and laser engraving materials and supplies. JPPlus recently expanded its product line to include Mutoh's UV-LED printers, ink, and supplies. "This natural expansion into UV-LED print technologies for signage and personalization industries makes perfect business sense for us," says Steve Gluskin, JPPlus director of digital printing product development. According to Mutoh, UV-LED printers give sign shops, awards retailers and those who do personaliza- tion an easier way to enter into the growing world of UV-LED printing. "We are excited to have Johnson Plastics Plus on board promoting our UV printers," says Brian Phipps, president and GM of Mutoh America. "JPPlus has been a valued reseller for Mutoh America, and we are looking for- ward to strengthening our partnership." FASTSIGNS International Acquired by LA-Based Equity Firms Carrollton, Texas-based sign shop franchisor FASTSIGNS International Inc. announces that it has been purchased by the Los Angeles-based private equity firms of LightBay Capital and Freeman Spogli & Co. Founded in 1985, FASTSIGNS is one of the largest franchisors in the signage and visual graphics industry with more than 700 locations across 45 U.S. states and eight other countries. "The FASTSIGNS team has done a remarkable job building the company into the leading franchisor in the signage and visual graphics industry," says David Burcham, managing director at LightBay.
