rv-pro.com May 2019 • RV PRO • 29 living quarters to be combined without sacrificing the cab's superior ride quality, according to Sammut. He adds that there are a number of other qualities to like about the M2 chassis, which when paired with a Cum- mins diesel engine offers 350 horsepower and up to 115 pounds of torque for a pow- erful ride and the ability to provide 20,000 pounds of towing capacity. Additionally, many RVers are drawn to a Super C for the durability of the commercial truck chassis and the cab design, Sammut says. Newmar plans to offer the Super Star in four floorplans ranging from 37 to 40 feet in length. The base MSRP for the Super Star is expected to start at $358,000. Notable exterior features on the Super Star include taller-than-average basement storage bays equipped with pass-through trays, a 22-foot, 11-inch awning on the passenger side, frameless windows and a hydraulic entry step. A bold graphics package comes standard. The coach offers a lot to like on the inside as well, Sammut says. Creature com- forts include a 72-inch by 80-inch king- size bed in the rear bedroom slide, a roomy bathroom with 40- by 32-inch shower, porcelain tile throughout the coach, and residential-style appliances and hardwood cabinetry in the galley. The Super Star comes equipped for an optional stackable washer/ dryer. Sammut says Newmar decided to enter the Super C market after two of its promi- nent dealers, Northtrail and Transwest, saw potential in the RV category and asked it to develop a motorhome with unique features. The Super Star has been a bit more than two years in the making, he adds. Sammut says Newmar plans a slow rollout of the Super Star, with produc- tion on the motorhomes beginning in June or July for Northtrail and Transwest. He says the RV manufacturer expects to begin delivering Super Star motorhomes to the rest of its dealer network by late first quarter or early second quarter 2020. Sammut says dealers' feedback on the Super Star at RVX was overwhelmingly pos- itive, which he says was gratifying coming on top of The Reveal award. from page 27 Now – get a 360 º view around the RV.
