Galbreath said the challenges were quite a bit different from what he expected after the 2017 competition. "The way the competition was set up with the faults and the things we had to find, it was more about a speed-based decision," he said. Sponsors of the Top Tech Challenge were Dometic, Airxcel, Thetford/Norcold and Lippert Components. RVWA Event Launch Draws Big Crowd A standing-room-only crowd of women and men thronged a downtown Salt Lake City restaurant on March 13 to celebrate the inaugural launch of the RV Women's Alliance, in an event coinciding with RVX: The RV Experience. RVWA Chairwoman Susan Carpenter kicked off the event by talking about the importance of female and male mentors in her own life. She also encouraged the 150 or so people in attendance to network with their peers. "We're really excited to be forming this group," Carpenter said. "With more and more women entering the industry, it's a great time to encourage women to explore the variety of career oppor- tunities available, help with mentorship, networking and more." "This is not meant to be an exclusive women's club," added Liz Crawford, RVIA senior vice president. "There are so many organizations out there that act in a similar capacity. We want to provide folks with an opportunity to learn from others, seek ways to share best practices, and encourage women from all walks of life to enter this exciting market." A number of those in attendance said the event exceeded their expectations. "Tonight was very successful. The turnout was terrific and I saw a lot of new faces here," said Chad Reece, director of corporate relations for Winnebago Industries, an event sponsor. Other attendees expressed similar sentiments as to the success of the event, particularly the networking that occurred. rv-pro.com May 2019 • RV PRO • 45 Watch RV PRO Exclusive Videos from RVX: http://rvpro.ly/rvx-reveal-2019 http://rvpro.ly/gmc-asa http://rvpro.ly/rvx-in-the-know R V P R O D U C T S G R O U P ® 365 W.
