JUNE 2019 THE SHOP 13 1971 CHEVROLET BLAZER Ringbrothers headed to the 2018 SEMA Show with a 1971 Chevrolet K5 Blazer known as Seaker. The build is the first custom SUV by Jim and Mike Ring, crafted after years of successful muscle and sports car projects. Powered by a GM LS3 crate engine with a Holley Performance Products fuel system producing 430 hp connected to a Bowler Performance Transmissions 4L60E automatic and custom Flowmaster exhaust, the Blazer features a variety of Ringbrothers products including hood hinges, universal truck tie-downs, Pro-Touring door handles and window cranks, running boards, firewall, air box, engine covers, fan shroud, floors and side panels. Participants include: AFCO (radiator with Prestone antifreeze); RideTech (suspension components); 3M (refinishing tools including Cubitron finishing paper); BASF (Glasurit Brazilian Smoke paint); Circle Racing Wheels (17-inch wheels); BFGoodrich (all-terrain tires); Upholstery Unlimited (interior); and Vintage Air (A/C). MOAL HOT ROD CarCapsule USA enjoyed the 2018 SEMA Show with celebrity sponsor Wayne Carini and his Moal Hot Rod. Carini commissioned Hot Rod Hall of Fame builder Steve Moal to lead the project, which was protected by a CarCapsule on the show floor. 1963 VOLVO 122S AMAZON CUSTOM Jeff Allen, owner of Flat 12 Gallery, debuted his newest one-of-a-kind vehicle, morphing a 1963 Volvo 122S Amazon with a 2013 Grand Sport Corvette from Copart to create the #VO6 in the Shell Pioneering Performance pavilion at the 2018 SEMA Show. The Flat 12 Gallery team transformed the Volvo 122's 85-hp performance level into a 600-hp beast that makes full use of the Pennzoil Synthetics under the hood, a Lingenfelter-built LS7, Forgeline wheels and Baer Brakes. The plan was to auction the #V06 to benefit the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund.
