16 THE SHOP JUNE 2019 SKETCHBOOK PROJECT VEHICLE JEEP WRANGLER JL Grid Off-Road Wheels rolls out an eye-catching orange-camo Jeep Wrangler JL that stands out on any trail. Modifications include new Fab Fours body armor, Nexen Tires, Xprite USA lighting and a custom Roadwire interior to go with the Grid GD9 wheels. 1967 FORD SHELBY GT500 EXP PROTOTYPE Little Red is a 1967 Ford Shelby GT500 EXP Prototype experimental notchback coupe discovered last year in North Texas by a team led by Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction Co., and restoration specialist Jason Billups of Billups Classic Cars. The big-block Shelby notchback coupe was one of a pair of experimental cars created by Ford Motor Co. and Shelby American. It was a pivotal developmental car with a variety of ideas put into play, from a restyled body to adding a Paxton supercharger. Under the direction of Lee Iacocca, the car eventually became the model for Ford's popular 1968 Mustang California Special before it was moved to storage and presumably lost. "Little Red is an extraordinarily important piece of American automotive history and exemplifies the passion for Ford and Shelby performance vehicles," said Lance Stander, CEO of Shelby Legendary Cars. Details about Little Red's discovery and subsequent restoration are being fully documented at www.ShelbyPrototypeCoupes.com.
