Hanes Earns 2019 Forsyth County Governor's Volunteer Award WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.—Hanes and its employees earn the 2019 Forsyth County Governor's Volunteer Award for contributions to its hometown commu- nity. Hanes em- ployees volunteer time at Samaritan Ministries, a volunteer-based organization that operates a soup kitchen, shelter, and other programs to support those living homeless and/or hungry in For- syth County. In 2018, Hanes employees volunteered more than 350 hours at the organization working in the soup kitchen and distributing basics like socks and underwear to more than 500 people. "Hanes' volunteers make an invaluable contribution to Samaritan Ministries," Sonjia Kurosky, the agency's executive director, says. "Whether serving on our board of directors or scrubbing pots and pans in our soup kitchen, the company's volunteers are eager to help and have never hesitated to ask if there was more they could do. And we are very grateful for their enthusiastic partnership and strong dedication to serving our guests." "It is such an honor for our company and employees to win the 2019 Forsyth County Governor's Volunteer Award," Chris Fox, HanesBrands' vice president of corporate social responsibility, says. The Forsyth County Governor's Vol- unteer Service Awards recognizes and honors volunteers who have made significant contributions to the local community through volunteer service. Created by the Office of the Governor in 1979, the award aims to honor the true spirit of volunteerism. The service awards take place annually in each of South Carolina's 100 counties. PRINTWEAR PEOPLE The M&R Companies (Roselle, Ill.) promotes Thomas Triming- ham to marketing communications manager. Trimingham has more than 28 years of screen-printing experience and has been with M&R for two years. His background includes design, separa- tion, fine art, consulting, marketing and writing for the industry. Be- fore M&R, Trimingham held positions as an illustrator, art director, high-end separator, marketing manager, and head of R&D. He has published hundreds of screen-printing articles throughout his career. As marketing communications manager, M&R says Trimingham is responsible for evolving new promotional strategies with the marketing department and executive team to de- velop and expand the reach and effectiveness of the company's brand awareness and communications. SpectraUSA (Chino, Calif.) announces the hiring of Brad Bleick. The company describes Bleick as a "dyed-in-the-wool rock star and resident genius of the California apparel game." His background in the apparel industry includes time at companies such as Alstyle, Mill 42, and Ei-Lo, as well as a behind-the-scenes production for marquee brands like Hurley, Volcom, and Vans. Bleick joins the SpectraUSA team with 30 years of experience in the clothing industry. Delta Apparel (Greenville, S.C.) announces the appointment of Glenda E. Hood to the company's board of directors. Hood joins the board of directors with more than 40 years of experience in business, organizational and political leadership roles which span multiple industries and sectors. Hood's background also includes a political career which concluded in 2005 as Secretary of State in Florida and three terms as mayor and CEO for the city of Orlando. Since the conclusion of her political career, Hood has provided business develop- ment and strategic consulting services to companies as well as business, government, and civic leaders nationwide. Dalco Athletic (Corsicana, Texas) names Russell Hiler as nation- al sales manager. In his new role, Hiler is responsible for supporting its independent sales reps nationwide, including attending industry trade shows and developing booth displays and marketing materials. In addition to overseeing Dalco's independent sales reps, he advis- es and serves as a resource for the company's social media team. Based at Dalco's Corsicana facility, Hiler holds more than 20 years of sales experience including a career in the apparel industry that dates back to 2015. Charles River Apparel (Sharon, Mass.) announces the addition of Jen Kruger and Bryan Mercer to its growing sales team. Kruger and Mercer have more than 30 years of combined experience in the promotional products industry as supplier represen- tatives.
