Technically, he's correct. However, as the holding company for a collection of businesses, Airxcel casts a large shadow in the RV industry because that collection of companies includes several exceptional brands and market-share leaders in both the RV segment as well as the commercial and industrial sectors. With well-known names such as Aqua-Hot, Coleman-Mach, Maxxair, MCD, Suburban Manufacturing, Dicor Products, United Shade, Vixen Compos- ites and Seal Design in its RV group, it's doubtful that an OEM hasn't integrated something from an Airxcel brand into one of its products or that a dealer hasn't sourced an aftermarket product from one of the business divisions. And, it's not surprising. Rutherford believes the company has a formula for success that will keep it growing and improving into the future. Three Pillars Airxcel has come a long way from its inception in 1991, when the founders paired with a private equity firm and picked up a couple of Coleman Co. business units. With a strong focus on new product development and market expansion, the company sees plenty more potential for growth moving forward.
