10 • RV PRO • August 2019 rv-pro.com T hree years ago, RV PRO magazine started highlighting the growing number of women in leadership positions in the RV industry. At the time, we hoped it could become an annual feature for the magazine, if we could find enough women. In retrospect, any doubts or hesitation were misplaced, as we have subsequently been introduced to women representing all segments of the RV industry in leadership roles. And that's not surprising, given the larger trend in business today of women occupying key leadership positions in private and publicly held companies. Just one example of that: 9.4 million workers in the U.S. today are employed by 1.1 million wom- en-owned businesses with a total annual payroll of $318 billion and amassing $1.5 trillion in total annual receipts, according to figures from the U.S. Small Business Administration. And in the past year, RV PRO has been privileged to play a role in the RV Women's Alliance, which is dedicated to elevating the roles and contributions women make to the RV industry. So, with a new appreciation for the diversity of the RV industry, we invite you to take a few minutes to read about some more female leaders whose careers have blossomed at a time when RVing has gained a newfound interest across North America.
