Restylers that work with dealerships have found the value of packages that are designed to move vehicles. They have also found that package sales work well in a retail environment. However, the packages have to not only be appealing to customers, but relatively economical. In short, they must be market- able and ultimately lead to increased sales. I love walking the SEMA Show and seeing all the wild and crazy builds, but I can't sell those to the majority of the dealerships or consumers we work with here at Automo- tive Concepts. That's one of the reasons the SEMA PRO council created the PRO Cup Challenge, which will be judged and showcased at the PRO (Professional Restylers Organization) council booth #13113 in the North Hall at the 2019 SEMA Show, starting Nov. 5. This inaugural event will consist of four vehicles designed and built by professional restylers from four different markets across the country. Those vehicles will be there for you to see, evaluate and learn from. And if you're not able to make it to SEMA this year, don't worry—we'll recap the projects, tell you who won and why they won, and explain how these packages can translate to more sales and profits for you. CONCEPT & CRITERIA The concept behind the PRO Cup Chal- lenge is to build a vehicle that could be displayed on a dealership's show floor, rep- resenting the best of what the aftermarket has to offer—a carefully selected package, designed to create excitement for potential buyers.
