70 THE SHOP NOVEMBER 2019 2010 MUSTANG GT The SCT Boss Mustang started life as a 2010 Mustang GT. With fewer than 300 miles on it, the car was used as a prototype vehicle for Retrobuilt Motors. First built to resemble a 1969 Shelby GT500, the car was driven by Carroll Shelby (he actually burned the clutch in it) before being disassembled and prototyped once again as a tribute '69 Mustang Boss 302. When Retrobuilt started production, the car was sold off until being bought by WWE Superstar Ricochet. Aaron Duncan, former Retrobuilt head designer, always felt the car needed to be changed (drastically) and that it was never finished. Now, with Ricochet's blessing, the car is being completely reimagined by Duncan's new company, Duncan Brothers Customs, for the 2019 SEMA Show, featured by SCT Performance. The Boss SCT will be a modern vintage masterpiece. Additions include an SCT X4 performance programmer and custom-cut wheels from American Racing. Participants include FLO Airride, Redline Tuning, Moffitt Bros., Classic Design Concepts, Wilwood and ClearShine. 1994 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER FJ80 Neil and Collin Tjin are combining their old-school (Neil, 41) and new-school (Collin, 11) flavor on a 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ80 that they are building for the 2019 SEMA Show. See it in the Thule/Tepui booth #34155. Neil had a 1994 Land Cruiser when he was in high school, and he and his then-girlfriend (now wife of 19 years, Mei) used it to go on early-morning dates. He wanted to recreate those memories with this custom BASF Army Green Land Cruiser. Tjin Edition teamed up with LR Auto Body for a complete makeover, and Unique Fabrication was brought in to build the custom front bumper, side steps, rear bumper and ladder. The front-end stands out with matte black accents, Japanese headlights, corner lights and snorkel. It is outfitted with tons of Thule goodies and a Tepui HyBox tent. Inside is all-new carpet, orange leather Roadwire seats, a booming Bluetooth audio system by KICKER audio and a Delta AVS storage rack and center console upgrade. The Land Cruiser's suspension, brakes, wheels and tires have been upgraded thanks to Eibach, Baer, Falken Tire and Fuel Wheels. The rear also makes a statement thanks to the Wilco Offroad hitch gate, Falken/Fuel fifth wheel, custom Unique Fabrication rear bumper, ladder and custom exhaust. Participants include: OPTIMA Batteries (battery) and Power Tank (air system).
