NOVEMBER 2019 THE SHOP 83 1960 SIMCA E.J. & Amy Fitzgerald at Cool Hand Customs have been working on a custom 1960 Simca project. The body has been cut in half and widened 8 inches to fit a 2007 Cadillac STS platform cut down to the basic chassis, cut in half and shortened about 22 inches. The build keeps the entire Cadillac powerhouse, drivetrain, gauges and pushbutton start, and around one-third of the original wiring. Meanwhile, QA1 R&D is putting together a custom suspension setup. Participants include: Summit Racing, Steele Rubber Products, Thermo-Tec, KBS Coatings, Grote Industries, XS Power, Painless Performance, Ansell, AMSOIL, Be Cool, RaceQuip and PPG. 1927 DODGE BROTHERS HOT ROD Corey Caouette shows off a 1927 Dodge Brothers Hot Rod with a twin-turbo LSX he built in his garage from his wheelchair.
