84 THE SHOP NOVEMBER 2019 "I WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE." Six words many people say. And those who say them usually have every intention of taking the action to make it happen. But, the reality is that life passes quickly. Days are filled too full. And those intentions get pushed aside. Yet, some people make that vision part of their life's work. Jessi Combs was one of those rare individuals who had the foresight to make it part of her job. She changed lives. She made a difference. I knew Jessi from the 2012 SEMA Mustang Build we both worked on. But, in talking to some of the people closest to her, I've gotten to know her better. She was a multifaceted, glass-all-full individual who embraced each day, each moment, to the fullest and never took a single thing for granted. It was her gift.
