E very time you take your car in for an oil change, have your furnace ser- viced, or call someone to landscape your yard you're probably seeing someone in a uniform. For some compa- nies, which are nationwide and have tons of locations, uniforms may be supplied by an industrial uniform supplier. There are many benefits to having a uni- form program for a large organization such as continuity in the appearance of employ- ees and ease of changing names and desig- nations when necessary. These benefits can also apply to medium-sized and smaller companies, but most of the larger uniform companies with multiple locations aren't necessarily interested in businesses with one location and a smaller number of employ- ees. That's where the opportunity comes in for local embroiderers, screen printers, and sublimators. When it comes to company identifica- tion and branding, emblems can be used for many things. One is to add the corporate logo and brand to employee uniforms. An- other is to add names and personal identifi- cation. Emblems also serve as a method of personalizing a uniform while also allowing that same uniform to transfer to another employee should an employment situation change. Since emblems are standardized siz- es, it's relatively simple to remove identifica- tion for one employee and replace it with identification for another. There are no blank spots or obvious discoloration issues because the new emblem covers the same spot as the old. Patches are also a great way to add identi- fication and branding to items that are too awkward to be put on a screen print press or an embroidery machine.
