Indeed, the sheer number of RVs on display at this year's 12th annual event appeared to have increased, partly as a result of Forest River having more exhibit space at its new East to West manufacturing plant near the Elkhart Municipal Airport, Thor Industries reconfiguring its display at the RV/MH Hall of Fame, and the presence of a number of first-time RV makers debuting new products. The sheer volume of new RVs on display combined with the dizzying array of special features and amenities, made for difficult choices when RV PRO's veteran editorial team attempted to narrow the massive list of contenders for inclusion in this special section highlighting what were determined to be RV PRO's Top 20 Best of Show units for 2020. What follows is admittedly subjective, based upon inspections of a multitude of RVs made by both large established players and newer, smaller independents. RV PRO's intrepid reporting staff specifically looked for what was new and unique, with an emphasis on innovation, user-friendly features and floorplan layout, and quality. This list is deliberately intended to repre- sent a wide spectrum of RVs and not focus on any one product type or price point. RV PRO's take on 20 RVs for 2020 that wowed at Elkhart Open House Week. By David MacNeal, Travis O. Pryor and Steve Bibler RVs were densely packed around the RV/MH Hall of Fame at this year's Open House to make space for the new Peter B. Orthwein Pavilion, and for the stage where Grammy Award winning country musician Keith Urban entertained Thor dealers Sept. 24. Outside the Pavilion, dealers were able to relax around a campfire on the lawn.
