EDITORS NOTE: 8 • RV PRO • November 2019 rv-pro.com P.O. Box 1416, Broomfield, CO 80038 (800) 669-0424 • (303) 469-0424 FAX (303) 469-5730 • rv-pro.com NATIONAL BUSINESS MEDIA, INC. PRESIDENT Dave Pomeroy VICE PRESIDENT / FINANCE Kori Gonzales, CPA VICE PRESIDENT / INTEGRATED MEDIA John Bennett VICE PRESIDENT / AUDIENCE Lori Farstad DIRECTOR OF TECHNICAL SERVICES Wolf Butler CEO & OWNER Robert H. Wieber Jr. Open House Week Gets Bigger, Better E ach time the RV PRO team attends Open House Week, our job gets harder. Partly it gets harder because the event gets larger, and also because each year it seems there are so many additional events and activities to cover. That was definitely true this year, with the launch of two full-blown supplier showcase events and multitude of special events, including the RV Technical Institute grand opening, the dedication of the new Peter B. Orthwein Pavilion at the RV/MH Hall of Fame, the RV Women's Alliance breakfast, and several world-class musical acts performing for dealer attendees, to name just a few. In response, RV PRO bulked up its editorial coverage, with Managing Editor Travis O. Pryor, Digital Content Editor David MacNeal and writers Steve Bibler and Ronnie Wendt all contributing articles that you can find in this month's issue. Of course, the main purpose of Open House Week is to showcase new RVs for dealers – and here again, the job is made much more difficult for RV PRO's editorial team because manufacturers showcase so many great products that it's difficult to single out just a few. This month's issue features units from manufacturers big and small, covering a variety of product types and price points, that were identified by RV PRO's team as industry standouts. We limited our Best of Show coverage to 20 units to keep the list manageable, but I can tell you that in our preliminary discussions our list of candidates was nearly twice as long. As you might imagine, narrowing the list proved especially challenging this year. In terms of overall Open House Week reporting, I'm happy to report that this year's coverage is the most extensive ever, reflecting the importance the event has taken on for the industry. It's our pleasure to share all of the great things that happened at this year's show in this issue. RV PRO Welcomes the Return of Anthony Bowe A familiar face has rejoined the RV PRO team. Anthony Bowe, who served as the publication's digital content editor from 2011 to 2013, has returned as a media consultant serving clients in the eastern time zone. Bowe started his eight-year career at National Business Media by establishing the fledgling daily eNewsletter for RV PRO. He soon was named managing editor of a sister publication in the automotive aftermarket, which was shuttered two years later to make way for THE SHOP magazine, serving vehicle performance, restyling and customization professionals. Bowe helped design and plan THE SHOP and managed the nameplate's daily eNewsletter for the past four years. For his efforts, SEMA named him to its "35 Under 35" list in 2018. "It's so nice to be back in the RV PRO fold – this is a special team perfectly fit for the hardworking RV industry," Bowe says. "I'm committed to leveraging my extensive editorial experience to advance the marketing objectives of our clients while continuing to uphold the high standards of this publication." Bowe can be reached by phone at 720-566-7232, or by email at abowe@nbm.com. As always, thanks for reading.
