42 a-e-mag.com • A&E JANUARY 2020 T here may be days when you feel like you are a creative genius, and then there are other days when you feel overwhelmed at the thought of having to create something. The pressure to produce a design can put an immediate damper on your creative juices, especially when you have a customer waiting for the product. So how do you find inspiration when you feel like you are in a creative rut? One of the best ways I know is to get in a routine of creating daily. If you set aside 15 minutes a day, you will be amazed at what starts to happen. It will form a habit not based on a "feeling," but the practice of creating. It takes time, but it's so much better than waiting for the mood to strike. Of course, looking at other people's work can inspire you, places like Etsy, Jane, Pinterest, and Facebook groups. CreativeStudio from Sawgrass is an online software program that you get when you buy a Sawgrass SG400 or SG800 printer. They offer a basic online version, as well as a subscription-based application. The basic version alone makes it worth the price of a Sawgrass printer in my opinion. Unlike other graphics programs, Cre- ativeStudio was designed for sublimation users. It is not offered as a stand-alone software program outside of having a Sawgrass printer. EASE OF USE CreativeStudio, at first glance, is a user- friendly design software. The program is easy to navigate through its drop-down menus, and users are able to start creating designs or use their ready-made images immediately. Having a sublimation Facebook group for beginners, I see a lot of people struggle with design work. Many people ask about graphics software programs and which ones they should use to start creating designs.
