68 • A&E JANUARY 2020 I have worked at every level of the sub- limation industry: I started out with a small shop where I sold personal- ized sublimation products in a small mall; managed the sublimation department for Johnson Plastics Plus; ran the operations for a cut-and-sew apparel manufacturer that had all aspects of apparel manufac- turing under one roof; and currently, I work for Duraluxe where we manufacture sheet aluminum for sublimation. Certainly all of these jobs can be stressful at times, but being a small-business person and especially working in the personalization and customization market brings its own set of stresses that can really wreak havoc on your body. On top of that, a big portion of each workday may be accomplished in front of a computer screen in a mostly sedentary position. Exercise of any sort can help you stay healthy and relieve stress. It also gives you more energy, confidence, and can help you be more creative. The CDC recommends 30 minutes of moderate-intensity activity five times per week as part of a healthy lifestyle. Do you meet those standards? Probably not. Most people know that we should exercise, but many excuses often get in the way. Kevin Lumberg has over 18 years of experience in the sub- limation industry at all levels from sublimation shop owner, managing the Johnson Plastics Plus dye-sublimation business for over 13 years, and managing the Operations of a Sublima- tion Cut and Sew Apparel Manufacturer. Currently, Lumberg is responsible for business development of the Duraluxe product line in North America.
