Letters, photographs and manuscripts welcome. n what's become an annual endeavor, I take a moment at the start of the magazine's new year to look back at the products, markets and trends we've reported on in these pages over the past 12 months. And, without fail, I'm always amazed at just how much is going on in this great industry. One of the main themes that underlies much of our con- tent is business adaptability—making sure your shop has the information needed to successfully respond to changes and opportunities when they arise. And, boy, are there opportunities. With nearly daily advancements happening in the now-defined mobility industry, it's an exciting time for shops that build, enhance and customize vehicles, blending new approaches with the consistent desire of drivers looking to make their car, truck, SUV or race machine an extension of themselves. It's true that if you blink, you might miss something. To help, here's a look at some of the ground we covered in 2019: JANUARY—Businesses start the year with questions about tariffs; the new Jeep Wrangler makes a splash; and pre-war restorations can turn into a treasure hunt. FEBRUARY—Responsible off-roading is a group effort; there's no stopping no-prep drag racing; and LED lighting continues to shine brightly. MARCH—Have no fear of OEM scare letters; social media is a great place to recruit; and building consumer trust in ADAS products takes time. APRIL—Hooking up with the towing market; a blend of technology and tradition drives today's performance industry; and accessory managers are your in at car dealerships. MAY—It's all fun and games with in-car entertainment; climb aboard the lift kit market; and let them see you in a magazine. JUNE—Dyno ownership has its benefits; getting down to business with the work truck crowd; and noise control products are quietly becoming a thing. JULY—Raising a salute to American-made products; tint and PPF have you covered; and cars & coffee can mean new customers. AUGUST—THE SHOP Guide leads you to products and suppliers; C10s make a case as the next great customs; and versatile light bars continue to have their day in the sun. SEPTEMBER—Shirley Muldowney shares words of wisdom; a beginner's guide to selling online; and having fun with the powersports market. OCTOBER—Expanding horizons with business sidelines; racks help customers gear up and go; and wireless device charging is now an automotive reality. NOVEMBER—Project vehicles are the great payoff; overlanding is a trail to profits; and friends remember Jessi Combs. DECEMBER—Local customers aren't hard to find; aftermarket exhausts let it all out; and dealership packages give you power. Here's hoping 2020 has this much to offer, and more!
