"They don't want to be like the next retailer – even though they're selling many of the same parts or the same vehicles," says Byrd. "We need to help dealers find a way to be different and celebrate their differences in their look, the mix of products they stock and the overall retail presentation." Byrd says that it's not even necessary for a store to do a complete reset or remodel. "Many times, you can refresh a store by just changing out the end caps," she says. "We recommend changing the products on the end caps on a quarterly basis. "It does matter," Byrd adds. "Themed promotions, seasonal messages and gen- eral retail signage are all very effective in changing the look and creating a new and fresh atmosphere, especially for your reg- ular customers."
