50 THE SHOP MARCH 2020 T he start of a new decade is a great time to take a look at the in-vehicle technology market, and particularly Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems. A lot of the conversation is currently cen- tering around when autonomous vehicles and Smart Cities will become a reality. I believe that we are well on our way, and that the next 10 years will continue to shape the Smart City future. In past articles, I have written about the efforts we are placing in our business on implementation to support this autono- mous ecosystem. From technician training to quality control protocols to custom apps, we are preparing for the future, which we believe allows us to differentiate Auto Action from competing installation providers. The biggest challenge I find with this new market is simply the security of the tech- nology, and not so much the technology itself. Wrinkles will continue to need to be ironed out relating to the newfound partnerships among the technology sup- pliers, vehicle manufacturers and the public sector's infrastructure. We as an industry will continue to be an important part of this newly disruptive ecosystem.
