In Loveland, Colorado, January 23, 2020: opening night for the She Bends exhibit at the Loveland Museum, curated by Meryl Pataky, a San Francisco-based neon tube bender and artist. She Bends is a different kind of traveling neon show, celebrating what a com- munity of women, from various backgrounds and places are doing with the medium today. While signage and art juxtapose themselves in a unique way when it comes to neon in the first place, women benders bring their own perspective. That perspective is provoca- tive, demanding and deserving thorough examination. "The artist group represented by She Bends actively pushes the boundaries of what is possible in this medium," says Maureen Corey, Curator of Art, Loveland Museum. She Bends will remain on exhibit at the Loveland Museum until April 12, 2020. For more information about She Bends visit www.shebends.com.
