"It's important for us to continue to grow, because if our customers want us to be a trusted partner it's important that we offer more products and more solu- tions to them." Getting Closer to Customers Another key priority for Dometic moving forward is to take a closer look at the company's end users, focusing on their "wants, needs and maybe frus- trations," Nelson said. Dometic this year will start to look at unmet cus- tomer needs, working with its partners to do more in the area of service, but Nelson said exact plans are still being formulated. "We want to be more proactive," he said. "We don't know what this will look like yet, but we're going to stick our toe in the water." Meanwhile, the company will tap into the expertise of its Mastermind Council, comprised of full-time RVers who offer feedback and ideas for Dometic prod- ucts, and it will continue to engage with consumers at events such as the Quartzite RV gathering that directly preceded the Dometic in the Desert event. Dometic had team members who camped at that event and then took a subsequent extended road trip with some of the company's "brand ambassadors", who use the company's products and share their experiences via social media. "Every time we have the opportunity to have team members to do this, to spend a day in the life of our customer" offers valuable insights, Nelson said. "And, I can't tell you how important that is and how we need to continue to do more of this. So, we've (experi- enced) an amazing transformation in the past few years, but you haven't seen anything yet." In a subsequent presentation, Vice Pres- Adam Donahue, business unit director for mobile cooling, shares details regarding the company's new CFX3 coolers with attendees. Jennifer Mercer, national director of development for Care Camps, mans the organization's booth during Dometic's trade show.
