rv-pro.com April 2020 • RV PRO • 65 Miller points to several features that set Discovery apart from the competi- tion, including a Power-Lock (wall joint) System, premium full-body paint, Roto- Cast molded and Citadel-lined luggage bays and a Freedom Bridge chassis. The latter – a staple at Fleetwood for the past decade and formerly called the Power Bridge – is exclusive to Fleetwood and provides the strongest foundation of any motorhome in its class, according to Miller. "We feel very strongly that there is no close second when building vehicles over 33,000 pounds," he says. "It all comes down to where the rubber meets the road and what kind of foundation you have to build your house on." Fleetwood is the only OEM that uses the true XCM chassis, Miller says. Discover y's legacy of innovation endures with the 2020 model and includes a larger 5-inch Firefly system color touch screen and push-button start, exclusive Apex power-motion lounger, six-panel doors and barn-door bunk closures. Strong Tampa Show Boosts Spirits for TMC A strong retail response for Thor Motor Coach's diesel product at the Tampa show in January convinced the TMC staff that they were hitting the mark with their 2020 Aria, Venetian and Tuscany models – all of which fall in the 33,000-pound and above category. "People came to the Tampa Show looking for something that was going to inspire them, and based on the number of orders we wrote, we provided a lot of inspiration at the show," says Jon Krider, TMC's vice president of product devel- opment and marketing. "I believe this segment is definitely on a growth trend and will bear the fruits of that growth," he adds. Krider labels the Aria the company's unit volume leader, due in part to its shorter length (35 to 41 feet). "That really appeals to people on the West Coast, who go to places that definitely don't have the facilities or the room that you need for a 41- or 45-footer," he says. MSRPs on the Aria start at $299,000. Next up the price ladder comes the Venetian. TMC highlighted a new Vene- tian floorplan, the F42, at Tampa that features dual vanities in the rear master en-suite bathroom, a king bed and an electric fireplace. Family-in-mind design provides an ensemble sofa bed and Dream Dinette booth. All four floorplans offer a 30-inch entry The Discovery LXE 40M floorplan features a large passenger side slide, two large driver's side slides and the option for a Hide-a-Loft twin bed above the captain chairs at the front of the coach.
