6 THE SHOP MAY 2020 HIMALAYA SPECTRE DEFENDER A tribute to the world's most famous secret agent, the limited-edition Spectre Defender from Himalaya combines British styling with American mechanicals. "The Spectre Defender uses a rare crew-cab pickup configuration," says Greg Shondel, Himalaya president. "Himalaya is able to create that very same layout using all-new body panels and frames sourced in England. After that process is complete, our team customizes the powertrain and interiors to customers' preferences, as with all of our other builds." Himalaya offers replacements for the stock 1961-designed Buick/Rover 182-hp 3.9L V-8 engine including a Cummins R2.8 turbodiesel and Whipple Superchargers-equipped LS3. Participants include: Toyo Tire (37-inch mud-terrain tires); Wilwood (disc brakes) or Brembo (premium braking system); Currie Enterprises (Johnny Joints); FOX Racing (remote-reservoir shocks); Dynamat Products (sound- deadening insulation); Safety Devices (exo-cage); Front Runner Vehicle Outfitters (roof rack); Warn Industries (Zeon 10S winch); AMP Research (Power Step sideboards); Poison Spyder (customized rear Jeep bumper); High Beam Offroad (exterior LED lighting); Recaro (seats); Dakota Digital (gauges); MOMO (steering wheel); Exmoor Trim (interior LED lighting); Kenwood USA (head unit); and JL Audio (speakers).
