50 THE SHOP JULY 2020 O ne can't think of aftermarket products made in the USA and not think about the companies that proudly produce them. Their stories are often of innovation, perseverance and the realization of the American dream. One example, Design Engineering Inc. (DEI), celebrating 25 years of producing heat and sound control products, was founded in 1995 by performance industry veteran Dale Markley and his wife, Nancy. The company quickly earned a reputation in the Cleveland area and beyond for its dynamic, pioneering solutions to combat power-robbing under-hood heat issues. Over the years the company has evolved by always putting its customers first. "At Design Engineering Inc., you, the customer, are behind every decision we make," says Dale's son David Markley, who took over as president in 2001. "We try to look at every product and service we offer from your perspective. We use the phrase 'What's in it for you?' and strive every day to create innovative, quality products that exceed your expectations." Theirs is an example of the pride American companies put into their work every day, all with the goal of making your next vehicle project a success. Wrangler JL & Gladiator Headliner Kits Design Engineering Inc. (DEI), Avon Lake, Ohio, introduces three new Sound Deadening/Insulating Headliner Kits designed for two- and four-door Jeep Wrangler JL and Gladiator models. The new headliners and side window kits are made in the USA to add thermal protection while greatly reducing the transfer of noise to improve interior acoustics. Constructed of marine-grade foam that resists mold and mildew, the new Jeep headliners are custom-cut and CNC-machined. They are available in an original (black, gray or white) or leather-look finish. LS Turbo Camshafts Summit Racing Equipment, Tallmadge, Ohio, presents its Pro LS Turbo cams, designed to optimize cam timing with turbochargers. The lobes provide stable valve timing at 7,000-plus rpm with the spring pressures found in commonly available, quality spring packs. The exhaust lobes open softly against high cylinder pressure for reduced stress on the valvetrain. Overlap has also been reduced in order to prevent reversion. Made in the USA from American-made bearing steel, the camshafts are available in patterns to match many engine and turbocharger combinations. Shock Guards Daystar Products, Phoenix, presents its 2.0 Universal Shock Guard that provides full suspension travel while protecting the shock's body, shafts and seals. The guards clip onto the vehicle's suspension without the removal of any components. Made in America from high-density ABS polymer, they provide full-stroke for multi-length shock protection of most common 2.0 shocks and come in pairs in a retail-friendly clamshell package. Multiple colors are available. Products produced on home soil. 50 THE SHOP JULY 2020 MADE USA IN THE S P O N S O R E D B Y
