If you place an urn in the engraver that is not perfectly aligned along both the vertical and horizontal of the laser bridge, it will not laser the border square. For instance, a slight hori- zontal misalignment may laser the border fine on the left, but be off by 1/16 or 1/8 of an inch on the right side of the urn. So, how can I ensure that I place the urn square in my laser if I can't use the left and top rulers? To solve this problem, I made sure the platform sits perfectly against the left side of my laser then placed squared pieces of acrylic against the left of the platform, forming a ridge to place the urn against. This takes care of the vertical alignment. Above: The com- pleted double- sided mini sign. Left: Note the detailed pieces, which are glued on with acrylic glue. Getting some of it perfectly straight was almost impos- sible due to the ex- tremely tiny size. The customer proof on my design for the mini sign for a Michi- gan Christmas village.
