rv-pro.com October 2020 • RV PRO • 41 completely disclosed and explained to the consumer when they come into a dealer- ship, he says. "Those products provide much-needed revenue because the front-end unit sale profits have been drastically reduced by online purchasing. F&I departments have a myriad of available lenders that a con- sumer might not have, so they can secure them the best financing – buyers need that kind of personalized service." Teamwork Separates All Seasons from Competition Nelson and Bortles are quick to say that their F&I department differentiates itself from other dealerships because they work as a team. "You rarely see that anywhere else – hardly ever," Nelson says. "We're 100 per- cent on the same page as to how we sell and price product, which we're super fair on and very transparent." All Seasons has set pricing that doesn't vary with customers and set menu items that all customers are walked through. "They can't make a purchase if they don't know what's available," Bortles says. "If they don't take advantage of a product, then they sign-off that they didn't and it gets filed." As a team, Nelson says they assist one another with deal structures and determine who the best lenders are for different cus- tomers with different needs. "Anytime we get a deal, it's like being a detective by breaking it down and selecting the right banks. If one of us isn't consid- ering another, better path, then we'll help each other out," he says. All sales and com- missions are split evenly between them, which ensures the customer is always taken care of, regardless, he adds. While noting that some dealerships might consider F&I profits as "funny money," the two F&I pros chuckle and say they are careful by selling products that have true benefits. "There are some products, such as seal- ants, that always don't perform the way as advertised," Nelson says. "We sell a lot of products and we never have a customer come back and accuse us of selling snake Up to 12,000 lbs. capacity Available with or without integrated braking system LIFETIME WARRANTY Fits a Fits any manufacturer's baseplates (specific clevis sold seperately) $725 $1,200 $649 $1,099 Guys...
