Whether it's maintaining the print heads on a full- color printer, checking thread breaks on an embroidery machine, or ensuring the lens are focused in your laser, keeping on top of these tasks all comes back to getting orders out the door and bringing in dollars. One key piece of equipment that often gets overlooked is business management software, a core tool that helps cover everything from customer orders to pro- duction notes, to accounting and finan- cial records, depending on the program a shop's running. Most business owners reading this are probably already running some sort of software in their shop. Still, not all decorators spend as much time keeping their software updated as they do their presses clean.
