This is get- ting clear about why we are in business, what drives us, and what things also drive us a little crazy. Your "why" will be at the intersec- tion of those things. The first thing to get clear on is, what is the number one value that is important to you and in turn, your business. Is quality work and getting things right the number one thing for you, or are speed and service more important? It could be anything that you hold as a core value to you. Secondly, what are you passionate about? It could be aligned or similar to your core value, but it could also just be adjacent to your core value. This is the thing that you find yourself doing with such passion that two things happen: 1. You have a hard time even thinking about charging for it be- cause it is so easy to you 2. You lose track of time when you are engaged in this activity
