14 • RV PRO • January 2021 rv-pro.com reaching more and more people; and the RV Learning Center launching a new ser- vice writer/advisor online course. "The three major dealer software pro- viders – one of whom (CDK Global) we honored today – are making major efforts to provide RECT reporting capabilities to identify bottlenecks in the system," Shep- herd said. In his remarks, Shepherd also bestowed a number of Chairman's Service Awards. Those recognized included Chris Hauck of CDK Global; Garry Enyart, a former RVDA board chairman who spent 2020 as chairman of the RVIA board of directors; former RVDA Chairman Mike Regan; and Ingrassia and his team on the RVDA staff. "I told (Ingrassia) he would not agree with my final award, but it's at my dis- cretion and I can do whatever the heck I want," Shepherd said. Ingrassia thanked him for his leader- ship through a very uncertain year and also thanked his entire staff and everyone involved in the passage of the Great Amer- ican Outdoors Act, which will provide bil- lions to the outdoor recreation infrastruc- ture, benefitting the RV industry and a host of other industries as well. With the virtual passing of the gavel, Andro took over as chairman and thanked Shepherd for his leadership and reminded him that he, too, would have his name engraved in a brick outside the RV/ MH Hall of Fame in Elkhart, Ind., just as all the other past chair members have. Incoming RVDA Chairman Chris Andro (pictured at his dealership in Connecticut) delivered an upbeat address to dealers during his remarks. "The biggest opportunity I feel we have as an entire industry is in front of us now," he said, noting that COVID-19 has prompted many people to consider taking up RVing that might not have done so in the past. Outgoing RVDA Chairman Ron Shepherd (pictured here delivering remarks during the 2019 RVDA Convention) talked about challenges and opportunities facing dealers, RVDA and the larger industry during his online presentation. He specifically highlighted supply chain issues and RECT as challenges but also noted 2021 should be a banner year for dealers.
