rv-pro.com February 2021 • RV PRO • 33 At the same time, with the couple's daughter's family and two granddaughters living in Colorado, the Gracks didn't waste any time in heading West. "He retired on Friday, and Saturday morning we hitched up everything and moved out to Colorado," Jan Grack says. At Home in Colorado Today, the Gracks make their home in a 34-foot fifth wheel in Berthoud, Colo., a community of about 8,000 people that's located about 40 miles north of Denver and about 40 miles east of Rocky Mountain National Park. Now age 75, Ken Grack has done more than his share of hauling a tool-filled trailer to stranded RVs in his part of northern Colorado, home to many tourist attractions and RV campgrounds. As might be imagined, the owner of Ken Grack Mobile RV Repair Service has accumulated a bucketful of stories about remote jobs and interesting situations he has encountered during the past 14 years. For example, there was the time a family lost their RV's waste tank after bumping along a rough patch on an interstate highway in Colorado. "They pulled into the campground in Johnstown, and they had completely lost the holding tank. It had fallen out from under the RV. They thought they had to go home," he recalls. Grack says he outfitted the unit with a few missing parts and a temporary tank. "They were the happiest people. It's like I had saved their vacation," he recalls. "That's worth more to me than anything else – making sure people are happy and enjoying their RV." Ken and Jan Grack display just one of the more than 70 large tubs of parts and tools inside the trailer they haul when they make trips into the field to help RVers whose vehicles have broken down or who have other RV repairs that need to be made. "We're blessed with good health. As long as we have good health and can go and help people, we'll keep doing it." —Ken Grack, owner, Ken Grack Mobile RV Repair Service This close-up photo shows in detail just some of the parts the Gracks carry with them on repair trips.
