Click the Save Preset button and the new document characteristics are saved to another dialog box. To access the new preset and create an identi- cal new document, click on the Saved category label (Figure 2), then click the Create button, and voilĂ ! There you have it. BRUSH PRESETS Now that the new, white canvas is displayed on your monitor, you may want to apply color with a special brush. Start by selecting an open im- age with any of the selection tools. The area must be a part of an image or filled with a color (Figure 3). From the Edit menu, choose Define Brush. Once the brush is defined, it shows up in the Brushes panel. It's re- ally that simple. Even if you close Photoshop and discard the settings, when you reopen it, the brush will be available in the panel. It resides in a Presets folder labeled Brushes inside the Adobe Figure 2.
