SENIOR ADVISOR: Mike Wieber Celebrating Leading Women in the RV Industry W elcome to the May issue – the new home of RV PRO's special Women in Business recognizing notable women in the RV industry. Longtime readers will recall that this special section ran annually in our August issue for the past five years. However, this year we wanted to reposition it to a time of the year where we could give it all the attention it deserves. As a result, we have produced our biggest – and I believe best – special section yet, highlighting female executives working for prominent manufacturers, suppliers, business service companies, and dealerships in our Women Leading the Way feature. You also will want read this month's dealer profile on Setzer's World of Camping, a West Virginia-based, second-generation female-led dealership (with a third generation waiting in the wings); our exclusive Q&A with Jessica (Wahl) Turner, the executive director of the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable, an organization that represents the interests of RVDA, RVIA and ARVC in Washington, D.C.; our company profile on Advantage PressurePro, where women represent the vanguard for this leading American supplier of tire pressure monitoring systems; and this month's guest column from F&I pro Jan Kelly. We hope you enjoy reading these articles about remarkable women as much as we enjoyed being able to share their stories. Help Us Recognize Our Own 'Band of Brothers' Meanwhile, the RV PRO team is hard at work on our big July magazine issue, which is our Proudly Made-in-the-U.S.A. issue – and the one in which we'll honor U.S. military veterans working in the RV industry. We last recognized veterans in the July 2013 issue, honoring more than 300 former members of the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines and Coast Guard who served in times of war and peace from the Korean War through recent times. We were deeply honored to be able to recognize them and share their stories. Notably, of the nearly 200 magazine issues has produced since our launch in April 2005, it's probably the one we get the most comments on to this day. And as the son of a World War II Army veteran, it remains one of my personal favorites as well. RV PRO is now actively reaching out to manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, dealers, state and federal associations and others to obtain their assistance in helping us recognize veterans who work for their organizations. Still, it's a big task ahead of us … and we could really use your help. If you know of a military veteran working in the RV industry, please encourage them to be a part of our special section. Participating is as easy as answering a few questions on our online form: http://rvpro.link/u9gm4. If you have any questions, or if there is anything I can do to be of assistance please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email or phone. As always, thanks for reading.
