OCTOBER 2021 THE SHOP 25 BMW Exhaust Akrapovič, Horsham, Pennsylvania, presents its Evolution Line (Titanium) exhaust system for BMW M340i (G20)/M440i (G22) applications. The high-grade, lightweight titanium exhaust is finished with handcrafted carbon fiber tailpipes and an austenitic stainless steel link pipe set. The valves on each side are designed to tailor the exhaust note, and two acoustic reflectors are fitted on the tailpipes to guide the sound into the vehicle's cabin. The system incorporates two valves, so a TNG controller is included. Battery Shield Heatshield Products, Escondido, California, presents the Lava Battery Heat Shield that protects a vehicle's battery from the damaging effects of excessive under-hood heat exposure. The specially formulated Lava thermal barrier material is naturally resistant to chemicals and withstands up to 1,200 degrees of constant heat and up to 2,000 degrees intermittent heat. The made-in-the-USA shields are precut to fit batteries in Groups 34 and 78, with more applications to come. Impala Weatherstrips Steele Rubber Products, Denver, North Carolina, presents Convertible Roof Rail Weatherstrips for 1958 Chevrolet Impalas. The six-piece convertible roof rail weatherstrip set is designed from the original part for exact fitment and seal. It fits on the folding roof of the vehicle to seal the side windows when fully raised. Made from high-quality EPDM rubber that has higher ozone and UV resistance and better overall performance than original rubber, the pieces are fully molded over steel core inserts. Aluminum Drag Race Steering Rack Strange Engineering, Morton Grove, Illinois, presents an all-new Aluminum Steering Rack for drag race applications. Developed with innovative car builders and extensively tested, the rack is constructed of 6061-T6511 billet aluminum and available in 19-1/2- and 24-1/2-inch applications. Premium features include adjustable pinion angle, heat-treated 4140 premium alloy steel internals, 9/16-26 spline pinion (same as Mustang/Pinto) and a black anodized finish.
